Signatures that live inside the file, not in a second system

There is no per-envelope charge and no annual cap to ration. Send what the matter needs. E-signature isn’t an add-on here — it’s how documents get executed in the system that already holds them.

Signers sign on the pages themselves — the actual document, not an abstract list of fields. Every signature request is bound to an immutable version of the document: what was signed can never be quietly swapped, because versions in Briefcase are never overwritten. When everyone has signed, the executed instrument files itself into the matter as the next version — named by your firm’s convention, never edited again.

A document generated from one of your templates arrives at the send screen with its signature and date boxes already aimed at the right people — the ordinary send is a review, not a placement job. Generate, save, send.

And a gate in your workflow can wait on the signature itself: a matter doesn’t advance past “engagement signed” on somebody’s say-so when an envelope is still outstanding.

Coming — email delivery of signing links. Today the link is handed to the signer by the firm (or through the client portal); automatic delivery ships with our notifications rail, and until it does the product says so rather than pretending it sent something.
